What’s Different between VES AX and VES R2?

Posted by Scott Hoye | 02-Aug-06 9:28 AM EDT

In my last post, I discussed some of the new features that are available only in VES AX. A number of people have asked how things are different between VES AX and VES R2, so this post will attempt to explain those key variations. If you are familiar with VES R2, then you will be familiar with the look and feel of VES AX because the front end (browser interface) hasn't really changed much. A majority of the changes between VES R2 and VES AX relate to its backend implementation.

New Features in VES AX

VES (Vykon Energy Suite) has now been ported to run in Niagara AX. It is currently available in beta form, however an official release is in the near future. If you are familiar with VES in R2, then you will be familiar with the look and feel of VES AX because the front end (browser interface) hasn't really changed. Since the goal was to port VES from R2 to AX, a lot of the behavior has carried over to AX from R2. However, there are a few differences and added features between VES in R2 and AX. In a future post, I will go into detail about the differences of how VES works in R2 and AX. This post will simply explain some new features that are available only to VES AX.
